My Christmas Wish List

Hi everyone! Now that it's December (how'd that happen so fast?!) and in line with last week's post, I figured I'd share some items that are on my Christmas wish list.

I mentioned recently that I've been trying to really think about my purchases. In addition to helping with spending, it's also made me want less. I know Christmas can be overwhelming with all the sales and receiving gifts that you may never use, so it's a time that I find it especially helpful to create a list of things you really want and share it with family (and even encourage them to make one as well!). It keeps things simple and meaningful, while always saving room for those homemade gifts from grandma as well ;)

Hold on folks, this is going to be a long one. About a year ago, I found a great dresser at an antique shop nearby that I just couldn't pass up. I brought it home and contemplated what I wanted to do with it for months on end. Paint it? Leave it? Sand it?           Brace yourselves. This is hands down, without a doubt, the best gluten-free and dairy free strawberry shortcake recipe you will ever eat in your entire life. And I'm not just saying that. Even those who despise food intolerances will be tricked and ultimately satisfied. You'll have trouble stopping yourself from eating the cake straight out of the oven, trust me. Gluten free, dairy free, delicious, and easy to make. Sounds good to me.

A Day in the Woods

When Sam was home for Christmas he, Claudia, and I all went to shoot some images in the midst of a snowstorm. What should have been a 15 minute drive took nearly 40 and our car nearly went backwards down a hill... seems funny now but I was freaking out at the time! But when we finally made it there it was well worth it (well after we had to climb and jump off of logs to get there).

After a short but fun walk/climb/jump through the woods and a logging area, we made it to a beautiful space where Claudia managed to take some stellar shots of Sam and I. I think we'll both treasure these pictures forever. Without further ado (adieu? ado? a do?) here are the images!
